Alpha Xi Delta’s Philanthropic Focus

 

 

 

 

 

The Kindly Hearts Initiative

The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our national philanthropic focus of supporting children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness. Alpha Xi Deltas across the country support two Key Impact Organizations, FosterClub and StandUp for Kids, making a national and regional difference under the umbrella of our focus.

Letters of Love

All Alpha Xi Delta chapters and alumnae associations participate in Letters of Love, Alpha Xi Delta’s national letter writing fundraising campaign. Held annually during the month of November this campaign benefits Alpha Xi Delta’s two Key Impact Organizations, StandUp for Kids and FosterClub.

Kindly Hearts Initiative

The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our philanthropic focus on supporting children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness. 

Alpha Xi Delta chapters and associations have the opportunity to support key impact organizations making a national or regional difference under the umbrella of our focus as well as the option to collaborate with local impact organizations that support children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness.

Who Does the Kindly Hearts Initiative Support?

Key Impact Organizations
Key impact organizations making a national or regional difference under the umbrella of our focus benefit from the fundraising efforts of our National Impact Campaign, Letters of Love. Alpha Xi Delta has identified FosterClub and StandUp for Kids as our key impact organizations. 

Local Impact Organizations
Chapters and associations collaborate with local impact organizations that support children experiencing foster care or homelessness.

How Does the Kindly Hearts Initiative Work?

National Impact Campaign
Alpha Xi Delta members participate in Letters of Love, a national letter-writing campaign that benefits key impact organizations making a national difference in supporting children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness. Chapters, alumnae associations and individual members fundraise for both key impact organizations, FosterClub or StandUp for Kids. Through the Letters of Love campaign, Alpha Xi Delta Sisters share their personal stories of why they choose to support the Kindly Hearts Initiative.

Signature Chapter Fundraising Events
The AmaXIng Challenge is Alpha Xi Delta’s signature fundraising event benefitting The Kindly Hearts Initiative. Each chapter hosts an annual AmaXIng Challenge fundraising event.

Localized Service
Chapters and associations are encouraged to find an organization(s) in their community to collaborate with for service opportunities. Service could be individually based or chapter/association wide projects.

AmaXIng Challenge

The AmaXIng Challenge is Alpha Xi Delta’s signature fundraising event benefitting The Kindly Hearts Initiative. Each chapter hosts an annual AmaXIng Challenge fundraising event with one of the following themes.

Step It Up

Step It Up is a campus or community 5K, fun run or walk event that attracts members of the fraternity and sorority community, student organizations, family, friends, faculty, local businesses, community organizations and your local community. Participants are encouraged to fundraise in addition to their registration fees.

Xi Man/ Xi Woman

Xi Man, or Xi Man and Xi Woman, is a talent competition where participants, generally representing fraternities, athletic teams and student organizations, compete for the title of Xi Man or Xi Woman. Activities can include penny wars, trivia competition and a talent or dance competition, just to name a few. The contestant with the most points at the end of the competition is crowned ‘Xi Man’.

Sports FrenXi

Sports FrenXI is a bracketed football, soccer, kickball or volleyball tournament. Participants and organizations are encouraged to register an entire team. Some events may also include t-shirt contests, spirit competitions, other interactive games and a team fundraiser.

Xi Games

Xi Games is a hosted game night of bingo, cornhole or trivia. Participants and organizations are encouraged to register teams. Teams that score the most points will receive prizes. Individuals and teams will have the option to play additional intermission games in between rounds of bingo or trivia and take part in team activities at the event to win additional bonus prizes.

Xi Karaoke

Xi Karaoke is a karaoke or lip sync competition. Contestants pay to participate in the singing or lip sync contest and prizes can be awarded for best performance, worst performance, funniest performance, etc.

AmaXIng Gala

At the AmaXIng Gala, Alpha Xi Delta members invite mothers, fathers, family members and/or university/college staff to attend a benefit fundraising luncheon, brunch or dinner with silent and live auctions for donated items and baskets as well as raffles. 

Letters of Love

Letters of Love is an online awareness and donation philanthropy challenge for all active and dormant chapters that runs during November.

Through the Kindly Hearts Initiative, our chapters, associations, and Sisters raise funds for key impact organizations that are making a national or regional difference under the umbrella of our focus. The key impact organizations are FosterClub and StandUp for Kids.

 

Additional Philanthropic Events

Additional events we coordinate throughout the semester may involve group and individual service project opportunities, donation drives, profit share nights at local restaurants, food fundraising events and more! Follow us on social media to see event announcements and information.
